Tigray military has rejected the allegations levelled against General Migbe Haile, a senior Tigray military officer.
Tigray Peace and Security Bureau, led by General Fisseha, issued a statement in this regard on Saturday. On Friday, Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), in a statement posted on its social media page, accused Tigray General Migbe Haile of orchestrating attacks on the Ethiopian military by Fano fighters. Last week, Fano groups from Gojjam, Gondar, Shewa and Wollo announced the launch of coordinated attacks on the Ethiopian military. Since then fighting has been intensifying in the Amhara region. ENDF in its statement further accused General Migbe Haile of smuggling gold into Eritrea and buying expensive properties.
Late on Friday, General Migbe appeared on a YouTube channel. He rejected all the allegations levelled by the Ethiopian military, denying links with Fano and Eritrea. He asked the ENDF to implement Pretoria deal instead of peddling propaganda.
On Saturday, Tigray Peace and Security Bureau spoke in support of General Migbe Haile. It dismissed accusations by the Ethiopian federal military as “false, demanding correction and apology.
