Ethiopian Minister Calls Eritrean President Mama Esuye

Ethiopian minister yesterday called Eritrean President a woman. The minister Lagesse Tulu called Eritrean President “Mama Esuye”.
“Is it said that if the displaced people don’t return before the winter comes, we will be dead? Who hates that? Didn’t we work hard to make more than ten plans for the displaced people to return to their homes before September? But who tripped him off? Mama Esuye said that the song is a song, they pushed it from behind. Your jokes will never end. Don’t forget that the road is addition, the goal is prosperity!,” Legesse Tulu said.
Legesse Tulu is working as Minister of Communication for the Federal Government of Ethiopia. He accused Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki of undermining the plan for the return of Tigrayan IDPs.
Since the start of this month, Tigrayan IDPs have been protesting in Tigray. They want to return to their homes in western Tigray (Humera Welkait Tsegede). The territory is disputed between the Tigray and Amhara regions of Ethiopia. Legesse Tulu and other Ethiopian federal government officials accuse Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) of politicizing the issue of return of IDPs. The Tigrayan IDPs have given an ultimatum to the federal government of Ethiopia, demanding their return before the start of rainy season. The IDPs were displaced during Tigray war.
During Tigray war (November 2020-November 2022), Eritrea supported Ethiopian federal forces against Tigray regional fighters of Ethiopia. But after 2023, Eritrean government’s relations with the federal government of Ethiopia deteriorated, while TPLF and Eritrean government renewed their ties.
