Ethiopian military and Amhara regional government spokespersons today declared war on Fano groups in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. “The defense and the regional government are working together to enforce the law, ” Mengesha Fentaw the Amhara regional government spokesperson said.

He further said that the government has tried to solve the problems through discussions and dialogue, but the response has not been as expected. The government has been forced to enforce the law and establish lasting peace. To ensure peace in the region and to end the conflict, many governmental and public discussions and consultations have been held but the response of the armed forces has worsened the suffering and suffering of the people.
The two officials accused Fano fighters of working with the historical enemies of Ethiopia receiving logistics and military support from abroad.
They said that law enforcement measures will be taken to ensure lasting peace. The elite, religious fathers, elders and the people of the region have been warned that they should stand with the government.
It seems that the Ethiopian government has decided to wage full scale war on Amhara Fano fighters. For the last 3 days, a massive crackdown on government and security officials has been ongoing in Amhara region. Dozens of them have been detained for their alleged links with Fano groups.
Since last year, the Ethiopian military has been conducting a military operation to crush Fano groups. But Fano groups got bigger in number and size.
