Tigray Security Force Blasts Ethiopian Federal Government

Tigray Security Force on weekend issued a statement. The statement is highly critical of the Ethiopian federal government.

Tigray military categorically rejected the allegations that Tigray military generals held secret meetings with their Eritrean counterparts in Asmara. AfricaIntelligence recently claimed that in the presence of Eritrean President, Tigray Generals held a secret meeting with Eritrean military and government officials. The statement slams Ethiopian federal government, accusing it of launching propagandists to malign the image of the Tigray security forces.

“Tigray security force is mainly concerned with the return of IDPs, withdrawal of Non ENDF forces and restoration of Tigray land as per Pretoria agreement,” the statement mentions.

Tigray military criticized the Ethiopian federal government saying that the latter conspired with Eritrean military to destroy Tigray and now it is accusing Tigray military of forming alliance with Eritrea.

Some Ethiopian federal government officials, including Abraham Belay, the Minister of Irrigation, recently claimed that some groups in Tigray are conspiring with Eritrea to disrupt peace and security in Tigray region.

Tigray region is in the grip of a post war political stalemate involving two TPLF faction. Tigray military is accused of being partial in this dispute.
