NBE Sells USD to Ethiopian Private Banks for 157 Birr
National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) today sold USD to private Ethiopian banks. Today’s auction was the 24th since the liberalization of the Ethiopian foreign exchange market in July 2024. Today NBE sold $160.5 million to 9 banks. Fourteen banks participated in the auction.

The weighted average rate of successful bids: 157.00 Birr/USD
