2- Rabbumaa Yaadataa (Deputy Chairman Sinnqee Bank Workers’ Union)
The whereabout of the two individuals are still unknown. So far, security forces have not confirmed the custody of the two abductees. No official statement has been issued by the Siinqee bank or Oromia regional government. According to sources, the two Employees Union leaders have been speaking out for the protection of the rights of Siinqee bank employees. Siinqee bank was founded in October 2021. It has been rapidly growing since then.
Reportedly, the bank owners have close ties with ruling Prosperity Party officials in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Last year, allegations of corruption were leveled at Siinqee Bank. It was claimed that Oromia regional government coerces farmers, businesses, and NGOs to deposit funds exclusively into Siinqee bank. The funds are then allegedly diverted to government-tied businessmen.
