Ethiopian government will raise fuel price next month. 30% additional tax is expected to be imposed on petroleum products. ️

Since the introduction of macro economic reforms last year, the Ethiopian government has been withdrawing subsidy on fuel. The government is considering imposition of 30% tax on petroleum products which includes 15% additional VAT and 15% excise tax.

According to the new guidelines, it is mandatory for the petrol supplier to submit all the collected taxes to the Ministry of Revenues. Current price of gasoline is Ethiopia is 122.53 ETB per liter. In September 2022, gasoline prices was 47.83 birr per liter.
