Abyssinia Bank Listed on Ethiopian Securities Exchange ESX
Abyssinia Bank has been listed on the Ethiopians Securities Exchange (ESX). It has offered 17,481,120 approved shares for sale. The modern Bank of Abyssinia was re-established in February 1996. It has 929 branches across Ethiopia. Its headquarters is located in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
This year two other private Ethiopian banks offered their shares for sale at the newly established Ethiopian Stock Exchange (ESX). Awash Bank was listed on ESX in April 2026, and Abay Bank in June 2026. Last year Gadaa bank and Wegagen bank offered their shares for sales. Gadaa bank was enlisted on ESX in June 2025, and Wegagen bank in January 2025. State owned Ethio Telecom was listed on ESX this year in May.
