Federal Govt Fails to Send 12th Grade Exit Exam Material to Tigray

Ethiopian federal government has failed to send 12th grade exit exam material to Tigray. Paper based 12th grade exit exam is scheduled to start in Tigray and other regional states of Ethiopia on July 08, 2026. 29,755 students in Tigray are due to take the exam at 8 exam centers.
Kiros Guesh, Tigray regional education bureau chief, announced today that 15,349 students were scheduled to take paper based 12th grade exit exam on July 08 in Tigray. But so far no exam material has arrived in Tigray.
12th grade exit exam is conducted in entire Ethiopia by the Ethiopian federal government. Kiros Guesh said that Tigray will conduct its own 12th grade exit exam in a short period of time and all 29,755 students will appear in the exam. Tensions are running high these days between Tigray People’s Liberation Front and Ethiopian federal government. Analysts say that Tigray region and federal government are on the brink of another war.
