Shabelle Bank Earns 231 Million Birr Profit in 2025/26

Shabelle Bank earned 231 million birr pre tax profit in the financial year 2025/26, showing more than tenfold increase compared with the last year.
According to Shabelle bank S.C. , customer deposits increased 4.7 billion Birr, showing 122% improvement than the last year. Bank’s financing portfolio expanded by 101% to 3.5 billion Birr. Total assets also increased by 55% to over 9.7 billion Birr.
According to Board Chairman Ibrahim Osman Farah, the strong performance is the result of significant financing growth and rising public confidence. The bank has relocated its head office to Addis Ababa.
The bank claims to be Sharia-compliant and attracts especially Muslim customers. It has 425,693 customer accounts and 1.7 million digital wallet accounts. Staring as the Somali Microfinance Institution in 2011, Shabelle bank started its full scale banking operations in 2022.
