12th Grade National Exit Exam 2018 Starts in Tigray Amid Tension

12th Grade National Exit Exam 2018 (E.C.) began in Tigray and other regions of Ethiopia today. Tensions are running high these days between Tigray People’s Liberation Front and Ethiopian federal government. Analysts say that Tigray region and federal government are on the brink of another war.
129,755 12th grade students in the Tigray region are taking the national exam. The students will take the national exam over the next 14 days. The exam is being administered at 8 exam centers, including universities located in the region. According to the Tigray Regional Education Bureau, the exam has begun in collaboration with federal and regional security and exam experts.
The 12th Grade National Exit Exam 2018 started today across Ethiopia at 607 exam centers. From the first to the third round, Natural Science candidates will take the exam, while from the fourth to the sixth round, Social Science candidates will take their exams. A total of 563,501 candidates (306,456 Natural Science and 257,045 Social Science candidates) are registered for all rounds of the exam, according to the Education Assessment and Examination Service.
