Ethiopian artist Solomon Bogale has been arrested by police. Solomon is well known in the Ethiopian film industry and has acted as a lead actor in several films.
Reportedly artist Solomon Bogale has been arrested by the federal police on suspicion of being involved in “Fintech Investment fraud”. Fintech fraud involves use of digital financial services, such as payment apps, robo-advisors, and crypto platforms, to steal money or data. Artist Solomon Bogale was taken into custody by the Federal Police Criminal Investigation Bureau on Thursday March 26. He and other suspects are being accused by police of misappropriating public money in connection with ‘fintech investment’.
In a related development, in February 2026, Ethiopian Federal Police arrested suspects in a fraud scheme involving forged bank guarantees that resulted in losses exceeding 89 million birr from institutions including Gada Bank, Cooperative Bank of Oromia, and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
