How Ethiopian Living Abroad Can Connect Fayda to Bank

How can Ethiopians living abroad connect Fayda to their bank accounts? The National ID program has announced a procedure through which citizens living abroad can receive a One-Time Password (OTP) by phone or via email during the process of linking their bank account with their Fayda National Identification Number.

Ethiopians living in other countries can access the remote service by registering their information along with their email. If you do not receive OTP on their phone number due to network or other technical issues, the OTP will immediately be sent to your email. If your have registered with Fayda but have not registered your email, you can benefit from the “Fayda data update system” by entering your email, which will also be useful for future needs.

So far, Fayda registration for Ethiopians living abroad has only started in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai). Citizens in other countries are temporarily exempted from linking their Fadya to bank accounts. Their transactions will not be blocked for the next six months, but they should complete their registration when they return to the country.

The deadline for linking bank accounts with Fayda in more than 25 major cities of Ethiopia is until June 06.
